Do You Know Jesus?
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Joy

By Sharyn Culp
Inspired by Holy Spirit
"And the angel said unto them, Fear not; for behold I bring
you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior,
which is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:10-11)"

Hallelujah! What a wonderful time of year to think about our Jesus, our Joy! Amen! When you think about it, if someone tells you good news, it does bring you great joy, doesn't it? The most wonderful thing about the angel bringing good tidings of great joy about Jesus was that the good tidings were for all people. Let's meditate on that for a moment. The angel didn't leave one person out. The good tidings the angel brought about Jesus were of great joy to all people. If there ever was a picture of the Father' heart, full of mercy and love, a limitless picture to all people, I believe this is it. Amen.

Strong's defines "joy" as gladful, joyful, joyous, joyfully, cheerfulness i.e. calm delight. As I looked at these definitions I began to think about all the possible opportunities of the holiday season that each of us could have to lose our joy - our cheerfulness - our calm delight. Just to mention a few would be monetary stress and budgetary concerns, hurried and tight schedules, weather and travel difficulties, family members bickering, threatening illness, and the list goes on and on. I decided to look up some scriptures and share them with you with the hope each of us will build a"fortress" within ourselves with help from the Word and the Holy Spirit to prevent us from losing our joy - calm delight. I believe we can choose, make a decision, in the midst of it all, not to lose our joy - cheerfulness i.e. calm delight. As always, we need to use our faith as a tool. We need to apply the Word of God in faith to our circumstances and believe God will change any difficult circumstances into a heavenly circumstance for us.

Let's get started building our "fortress" in our spirit man:

(1)"Great peace have they which love thy law; and nothing shall offend them."
(Psalm 119:165)

"Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor and evil speaking, be put
away from you, with all malice;
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as
God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." (Ephesians 4:30-31)

These are great "faith tools" in times of relationship distress. If we do not take offence and get into the "works of the flesh", the Enemy, Satan, is unable to hurt us through what people say or how they act. Amen.

(2) "Surely he hath born our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did
esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
"But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities
the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are
healed." (Isaiah 53:4-5)

"My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh."
(Proverbs 4:20-22)

These are great "faith tools" in times of threatening illness when the Enemy is attacking our bodies and we know the truth of Isaiah 53:4-5 - that by the stripes of Jesus we are healed. Amen.

(3) But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory
in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19)

"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine
house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open
you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall
not be room enough to receive it.
"And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the
fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in
the field, saith the Lord of hosts." (Mal. 3:10-11)

These are great "faith tools" in times when you are experiencing the threat of a lack of finances. God is able to supply all your need according to the riches of Jesus! Amen.

4)"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the
shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress; my God; in him
will I trust.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and then thousand at thy right hand; but
it shall not come nigh thee." (Psalm 91:1,2,7)

These are great "faith tools" in times when your plans are undergoing bad weather or travel difficulties.

Precious Ones, truly we can do as the angel said, "fear not." The good tidings of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, are great joy for all people regardless of our temporary earthly circumstances. God's Word can keep us joyful this Christmas and New Year because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. Amen. (Heb. 13:8)

"For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given; and the government shall be
upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty
God, Everlasting Father, (of Eternity) Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and of peace there shall be no end, upon the
throne of David and over his kingdom to establish it and uphold it with justice
and with righteousness from the (latter) time forth, even forevermore. The zeal
of the Lord of Hosts will perform this. (Is. 9:6-7, Amplified)
